Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church: Church Millwork Installation

Precision Cabinets & Millwork installed the architectural millwork in the sanctuary at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Westminster: column trim with capitals and layered profiles, the dark-and-gold ornamental panels around the raised sanctuary, and the paneled surrounds beside the altar.

We are an installation-only contractor. General contractors and millwork manufacturers bring us in to install millwork fabricated by others.

Project background

A Catholic church sanctuary renovation in Westminster

Blessed Sacrament is a parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange on Olive Street in Westminster (Diocese of Orange). In 2021 the diocese's news service described it as a thriving, multicultural parish of more than 4,500 families that had served Orange County for almost 75 years (OC Catholic).

In June 2025, OC Catholic reported a renovation that began in May, with plans for a wooden retablo behind the altar, air conditioning and an expanded sacristy (OC Catholic). Precision installed the architectural millwork in the sanctuary around that altar. The retablo itself was fabricated by others and was not part of our scope.

Scope of installation

Church millwork we installed

  • Column treatments: trim on the sanctuary columns, with capitals and stepped profiles where the columns meet the arches.
  • Layered trim: cap and base mouldings framing each column pedestal above the tile.
  • Ornamental sanctuary panels: dark panels with raised gold-tone mouldings on the pedestals around the raised sanctuary.
  • Altar-area surrounds: the paneled pedestals on either side of the retablo, carrying the same motif.
  • Not our scope: the retablo behind the altar, fabricated by others.

The centerpiece

Installing the dark-and-gold sanctuary panels

Each column around the raised sanctuary stands on a square pedestal. Its faces carry a dark field framed in gold-tone moulding: a ring at the center, four L-shaped returns around it and a perimeter frame, with a cream cap above and a cream base below.

The panels wrap the pedestal on every face that can be seen from the nave, so the frames meet at the outside corners. The same pattern repeats on the pedestals beside the retablo, which ties the altar area and the columns together as one set.

Common questions

Church and synagogue millwork installation

Did Precision manufacture the millwork for this project?

No. Our role was installation: field layout, fitting and trim, for millwork fabricated by others. The retablo behind the altar was also by others and was not part of our scope.

Do you work as an install-only partner for millwork manufacturers?

Yes. We install millwork that other shops design and produce, for manufacturers and for general contractors.

Do you install millwork in churches, synagogues and other houses of worship?

Yes. Besides Blessed Sacrament, our religious projects include Kehillat Israel in Pacific Palisades.

Bidding a church, synagogue or high-finish interior?

Send plans or shop drawings (a link is fine), the project location, your bid date and schedule, and who is supplying the millwork, and we'll price the installation.
